Here is a look back at some of the highlights of what was going on at St. John the Divine during the month of November. As we begin the Advent Season, we look with great anticipation at celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We have many activities planned during the month of December and we would love to have you join us. We are located at 2804 Reid Street, Palatka. We are just down Hwy. 100 from McDonald’s. For more information you can call Father Bob Mills at 386-546-0816.
Sunday, November 23rd, church members gathered after church to deliver a can of food to each house in the neighborhood around the church. Each can had a label that read: “Thanks for being our neighbor! God’s Blessings!” St. John the Divine Church. Overall, we visited and handed out over 100 cans of food. People were amazed and blessed by the fact that we would walk their neighborhood and pass out God’s love. Not only were those receiving the cans blessed, those of us who distributed the food were greatly blessed as well.
As part of an effort to carry the Gospel to ALL parts of the world and truly fulfill the Great Commission, St. John the Divine has launched a new website as well as a whole new series of social media. In addition to this website, you can now “Like” our parish on Facebook (Click the blue words to see our page) or you can follow us on Twitter @StJohnDivineCEC. Every day there are millions of unchurched people who are online through various social media and we are called to take the Gospel to those people. By starting to maintain a web presence, St. John’s will make it easier for our parishioners to not only stay informed with what’s going on in their own parish, but also invite others and share the Gospel with them. We are excited to be are part of this and we invite you to join us!
